Kharkivoblenergo (HAON) is a monopoly distributor and transmitter of power in the Kharkiv region, operating and controlling all electricity grids below 220kV. The Kharkiv region covers 31,400 km2 and has 2.8 mln inhabitants, of whom 79% live in urban areas. Kharkivoblenergo has a moderately diversified customer base. Industrial companies are the company’s largest clients, consuming 39% of its output, primarily in the machine-building sector.
