Dniprooblenergo (DNON) is a monopoly distributor and transmitter of power in the Dnipropetrovsk region, operating and controlling all electricity grids below 220kV. The company services Ukraine’s second largest region in terms of area and population. Dnipropetrovsk covers 31,900 km2 and has 3.5 mln inhabitants, 90% of whom live in urban areas. DNON’s customer base is moderately diversified, but primarily skewed toward industrial users, who consume over 63% of its electricity. The region is highly industrialized with machine building, ferrous metals, chemicals and energy enterprises and remains one of Ukraine’s largest electricity consumers.
