Ukrnafta (UNAF)
Ukrnafta (UNAF) is Ukraine’s largest crude oil producing company, accounting for nearly 90% of the country’s output. UNAF is also the second-largest gas producer with a 16% share of overall production. Ukrnafta’s proven oil and gas reserves total 549 mmboe under SPE standards. Ukrnafta has aggressively expanded its retail business since 2003, having identified this segment as a key part of its development strategy. Ukrnafta intends to become fully vertically integrated. The company is considering the purchase of two oil refineries. The union of upstream and downstream businesses would help Ukrnafta become an independent player on the oil and gas market, and should bring extra profits in the form of previously foregone refining margins.
